Dick Flynn is scheduled for heart surgery on Thursday, June 12th at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Los Angeles and will remain in hospital for 7-10 days. Visits will be limited and should be coordinated with Chris Flynn at (cell) 562-619-8443. No live plants, flowers or balloons are permitted in the cardiac unit.  Cards could be mailed to Dick Flynn, 27736 Buckskin Drive, Castaic, CA. 91384.

Enzo Zamboni

enzo Enzo Zamboni was born to Erminio and Oliva (Angeli) Zamboni in Vigolo Vattaro, Italy the sixth (6) of twelve (12) children. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores; sons Leo and Claude (Paulina); grandchildren – Dustin, Adam, Aaron and Talia; and three sisters – Silvana, Gianna and Daria (who reside in Italy) with 36 nieces and nephews residing throughout the US and Europe.

In his early twenties Enzo was a member of the Rome Police Department from 1946-1953, as well as part of the Vatican Guard during 1951. Included in those years he worked for Interpol as a special investigative officer.

After migrating to the United States and establishing residence in Redondo Beach, CA in 1955 he worked at Altas Headwear, Compton CA, as Plant Manager where he retired in 1991. He was a life member of the South Bay Sportsman Club and the former president of the Southern California Chapter of Trentino Nel Mondo. He coached baseball at North Redondo Little League and supported his boys throughout their high school and college sports programs. After a short illness he passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 28th, 2008 at 81 years of age.

A rosary and Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 at 7:15 PM. The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, at 10:00 AM. Both services will be at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 3846 West Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance, CA 90504. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave, Culver City, CA 90230 immediately following church services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to a charity of your choice in Enzo’s name.

The Southbay Sportsmen, Inc. was founded in 1962 by Fred Delhay and a group of men dedicated to the principles of good Sportsmenship.

The membership now stands at 76, with members in 6 states. Of the 76 members, 35 are life members.
